Vintage Exquisitely Hand Carved Cameo Brooch/Pendant Set in 800 Silver Marcasite Frame!
This auction as stated is for an absolutely museum quality hand carved cameo brooch or pendant. The hand caved brooch is beautifully detailed from the very gentleness of the woman’s face, the curls in her up swung hair as well as the roses she has place on the side of her hair, the delicate pearl strand around her neck, the top of her gown and the small bird on her shoulder catching all of her attention. Also as a note, the artist was so skilled in his selection of shell to carve, the roses are slight colored whereas the rest is a rich creamy ivory. The translucency of the shell shows the actual skill of the artist who carved this gorgeous piece. It is set in a silver frame made of 800 silver and has set all around the frame 34 marcasite to glimmer and catch the light. It is either a brooch with the pin in back as well as a pendant as there is a loop at the top that comes up to put a chain through it. It measures 2” x 1-1/2” or 49 x 38mm. It is stamped on the back with the 800 number. It is in perfect condition. Whatever special occasion, this will make a terrific gift for your special someone or for that matter, yourself!
