Early original publication entitled,”OFFICIAL PUBLICATION - PANAMA PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION - SAN FRANCISCO - 1915”. Handsome cream and light blue embossed string-tied cover measures 10 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches. Inside are twenty-six mounted hand-colored Albertype photographs (some two to a page), measuring 6 1/4 x 4 1/4 (two of them) to 6 1/4 x 8 1/4 (the majority of the images). A lavish souvenir album for the 1915 Panama- Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco, held to mark the completion of the Panama Canal. This album features "Albertypes" a photographic process that made ink-on-paper prints from photographic negatives. Among the images are San Francisco Mayor James Rolph, Jr., addressing a large audience on Palm Avenue; the Court of the Four Seasons; Court of the Universe; Court of Palms; Palace of Liberal Arts; Palace of Fine Arts; Tower of Jewels; Palace of Machinery; the Canadian Pavilion; and the Japanese Government Gardens. The album concludes with two panoramic views (each measuring 3 1/2 x 16 1/4 inches), showing a bird's- eye view of the "Exhibit Palaces" and another showing the Exhibit Palaces at night. Album is is excellent condition with light “sunning” to front cover border areas. Inside views are in pristine condition with no bends, tears, or discoloration. Last double image paper matches all the rest and is a tan color and NOT white. One page was inserted upside down when it was made.
