    Description

Hi, this is a Star Fort Used in dioramas of the Caribbean Sea Conlicts in the New World, and, the American Civil War.  By the 1700s, the days of forts being made of a wooden palsaides/simple built stonework were over.  European governments had allot invested in their overseas colonies, and, Star Forts became the norm.  Eventually some were built and used by the new nations that appeared, after the American Revolution, and, colonies that overthrew Spanish and French Rule.
The Star Forts allow a muderous cross fire to rake the attackers, even if one of the outer bastions/Star Points fell, it was no guarantee that the whole fort would fall.
In the original dioramas, only two sections of the five, that made up the Star Fort were used.  Simply because it was too big.  The rest of the Fort was illustrated in background painted cardboard.
Picture One shows a British soldier and artillery piece,
about 1:72 Scale.  Notice the penny, this scale makes it more of a Star Fortress.
Picture Two and Three shows a 1/32 Scale Union soldier with flag, and, a naval cannon.  Notice a part of the Fort has been repainted.
Picture Four, shows a Star Fort Section, upside dowm, showing the molding process and due to that process, a small corner of where two walls came together, did not form.
Picture Five shows one of the Star Fort sections, with one of the doors highlighted with paint.
The fort works best with figures from 1/72 to 1/32(25mm to 54mm) in size.  The smaller the figures used, the larger the Fort appears. Ships placed on a water base, in the background, give an illusion of being at a distance from the fort.  The Pirate Ship is of a greater scale, than the Ironclade.
Picture Six shows the Confederate Ironclade used in the Civil War Diorama.
Pictured 8 & 9 is an unbuilt Pirate Ship never used in the original Caribbean Diorama.  Th
is ship is from one of the most popular model makers in the world, from the few non-historical sailing ships from Zvezda.  It is a galeón type ship called The Secret based on a popular poem “Sacrlet Sails”.  It is 1/350 Scale,  the front of the box suffer a few scratches, but, still intact the contents.  Also this is the simpler version, offered by Zvezda, it comes with NO paints, brush, and glue.
Along with paper instructions in Russian, over seventy parts.
It has red sails, perfect for a Pirate Ship!
If you are interested in just one section of the Star Fort, email me, and, I will redo the auction for you. Only the Star Forts sections, are up for auction, there are NO troops and cannons included.  As for the Pirate Ship and the Civil War Ironclade, they ARE included.  The Pirate Ship comes in its box(it has to be built), and, the Ironclade comes unboxed(it is already built).
