    Description

    This is a fossilized Shrimp from Hgula, Byblos, Lebanon.  These shrimp, fossil name Carpopenaeus, dates back toe the Cenomanian Stage of the Middle Cretaceous approximately 100 million years ago.  Lebanon was a part of the Tethys Sea at the time.  Hgula, Byblos is renowned as a rich fossil site and these shrimp are some of the most highly desirable for that.
