CAMEO LOCKET!
I RECENTLY ACQUIRED A LARGE COLLECTION OF ANTIQUE & VINTAGE FINE AND COSTUME JEWELRY. IT IS A LOCKET AND OPENS TO REVEAL TWO PICTURE COMPARTMENTS THAT HAVE FOIL AND THE ORIGINAL PHOTO RING.
UNDER THE FOIL IS A HEART SHAPE THAT IS MARKED "1/20 12K. G.F., F.M. CO.", WHICH IS THE FINBERG CO.
IT WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 5.8 GRAMS AND MEASURES ABOUT 1 1/8" FROM THE TOP OF THE RING X 1 1/4" WIDE.
IT IS OVAL IN SHAPE AND ADORNED WITH ART NOUVEAU FLORALS AND SWIRLS. THERE ARE FOUR CHANELS EACH WITH BLACK ENAMEL.
BEZEL SET IN THE CENTER IS A CARVED SHELL CAMEO THAT MEASURES 5/8" X 1/2" AND IS A PROFILE OF A YOUNG LADY WITH WAVED HAIR, DRAPED BODICE AND FLOWER ON HER SHOULDER.
IT OPENS TO REVEL TWO PICTURE COMPARTMENTS WITH ORIGINAL RIMS. THE BACK IS SLIGHTLY DOME SHAPED AND ALSO HAS FLORALS AND SWIRLS AROUND THE BORDER.
IT HAS CERTAINLY BEEN WORN BUT IS IN VERY NICE CONDITION AND GOOD WORKING ORDER, OPENING AND CLOSING EASILY.
