ANTIQUE NEO CLASSIC CAMEO PENDANT VICTORIAN ITALIAN REVIVAL NECKLACE

Description

I  am offering this unusual exquisite Antique Neo Classic Cameo Pendant Necklace.  Victorian-Art Deco, Greek Roman Revival Period, early 1900's.  This lovely hand carved Italian Shell depicts a beautiful portrait of a young woman.  The hair and facial features are masterfully and intricately hand carved by an artisan in Italy decades ago.  The background shell color is also an unusual light grey-blue.
It is bordered in a handmade openwork filigreed scrolled detailing, which could be 800 silver.  I am not sure of the metal as there is an underlying copper/brass color, and I did not find any particular markings.
The cameo is 2" long x 1 1/2" wide.  The chain is attached on each side of the filigreed border, measuring 11 1/2" on each side, with a c closure clasp.
The overall condition is relatively good for its age, and came out of an estate of fine Antique cameo jewelry.
