    Description

Offered is this antique pre-Civil War Southern legal document, a guardian's bond from Floyd County, Georgia, dated February 6, 1854, with the recording date of the next day. The document concerns a 0 bond, with the names James Thomas, Archibald Davis and Winfield J. Scott (apparently not the American general) written in. All three have signed the document, as well as the Ordinary Judge (now generally called the Probate Judge).
The document is approx. 11 3/4" x 7 3/4". It is in very good condition for its age. There are a few tiny holes and a few small tears along the edges and at the fold lines. The paper has yellowed and there is some foxing and spotting and crease lines along the folds. The writing is still quite dark and readable.
The document will be sent folded.
