Description
Souvenir medallion struck for the government of Argentina to be distributed at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. Several South American countries built display pavilions at the Expo as it was expected that the completion of the Panama Canal would drive increased business opportunities in the region. Argentina's efforts in promoting investment in their country were among the most prominent. Struck in copper and Silverplated, 31mm diameter, made by the famous San Francisco jewelry firm of Shreve & Co. (hallmarked). Vert light sign of "rub" on a few high points as these mostly seemed to go right into a pocket, one small stain on the Reverse.
